@TheMightyZooblin Many people do. To me it doesn’t sound like they are breathing or resonating, and thats what drums are ment for (soundwise) to breate and be alive, not choked up. I love scv , and i tune my tenors to the 08 pitches since 08. cause they tune their tenors awesomely. Im not a fan of them choking the basses either. But thats drumming, its all personal taste

@drumpredator1 its how the heads get put on. The rim will be low if they put on and cranked tight the top head before the bottom head was put on and tightened. to get a good balance of rim on both sides of the drum (what i do) you put both heads on lose then tighten back and fourth untill desired level
